Application and Admission Process for Providence College

If I am a current PC student, do I need to order a transcript?

No, you do not need to order your PC transcript if you have given us authorization (in the enrollment section of the application) to access it. We will add your PC transcript to your application on your behalf.

I have attached a copy of my transcript to an email. Is that acceptable for submission?

No, we cannot accept a student copy as an official transcript. The transcript must be sent to us directly from your college or university.

What score do I need to achieve on the GMAT or GRE?

There is no minimum GMAT or GRE score required. Applications are reviewed holistically, taking into account your test scores, GPA, recommendations, and personal statement.

How can I check if my GMAT score or recommendations have been received?

You can view your checklist by accessing your status portal at: https://apply.providence.edu/portal/app_status 

Tuition & Financial Aid

How much do graduate programs cost at Providence College?

Each program at Providence College has its own per-credit rate, which can be found on the Graduate Studies and Bursar’s Office websites. 

How do I apply for financial aid?

Graduate students apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA and reviewing/accepting their aid in CyberFriar. Students may also apply for graduate assistantships or submit employer tuition benefits as applicable. 

What additional fees are required (application, enrollment, etc.) ?

Graduate students pay an application fee, an enrollment deposit fee (amount varies by program), and other possible charges such as a graduation fee or late registration fee(s). See fees here: https://bursar.providence.edu/graduate/ 

Are there any merit-based awards, scholarships, or need-based institutional aid available?

Providence College offers on campus graduate assistantships and federal loan options for eligible students. 

Admitted Students & Next Steps

What should I do after receiving my admission offer?

Students must complete their Admission Reply Form and submit any required enrollment deposit fee by logging into the admission status portal. The form and any required deposit are necessary to enroll in a program. 

How will I receive my login credentials?

Once you confirm your enrollment, you will receive an automated email notifying you that your credentials are available in your admission status portal. You can use the email and password that you have used throughout your application process to log into the admission status portal.

How do I register for classes?

Graduate students register for classes through CyberFriar by logging in, selecting the term, and adding courses to their schedule. For detailed steps or troubleshooting, students can refer to the Registrar’s registration FAQs. 

When will I receive information about course registration?

Once you confirm your enrollment and submit any required enrollment deposit fee, your program office will connect with you on a registration timeline and next steps. You may also access registration information from the Office of the Registrar 

What if I decide to defer my admission to a later term?

If you decide to defer your admission, you should contact the Office of Graduate Admission to make a request via email (gradschool@providence.edu). Please note that deferrals are approved on a case-by-case basis. Students may not defer the start of their program beyond one year from their initial entry term. 

How do I access campus resources like the library, technology support, or student services?
